Fleet Manager/Lead Skipper
This is a hands-on marine leadership role combining vessel operations, fleet maintenance, and crew support.
You'll help keep the operation running smoothly day to day, skippering charters on busy days and during quieter times you will ensure vessels are maintained to a high standard and handle mechanical repairs and vessel maintenance.
Because this role involves hosting guest charters, you'll need to be comfortable interacting with guests and delivering a welcoming, professional onboard experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Skipper charter vessels as required
- Deliver an exceptional onboard experience with energy, calmness, and professionalism
- Communicate clearly with guests, crew, and management
- Train and support crew and help maintain a strong team environment
Fleet Maintenance & Repairs
- Maintain all vessels in excellent operational condition
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues where possible
- Carry out routine maintenance and preventative servicing
- Coordinate specialist contractors when required
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Ensure safety equipment and operational systems are maintained
- Assist with ordering supplies and managing fleet equipment
- Support operational systems and digital tools used to manage the fleet
Essential Requirements
- Master 5 Commercial Ticket (or higher)
- Strong hands-on mechanical and troubleshooting ability
- Experience maintaining marine equipment and vessel systems
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial skippering experience required
- Must hold valid Australian work rights at the time of application
- Experience with outboard and diesel engines highly regarded
- Knowledge of AMSA regulations and vessel survey requirements
- Strong customer service and guest interaction skills
- Valid Driver's Licence

Skipper
The Role
As Skipper, you are responsible for the safe operation of the vessel while delivering an exceptional guest experience. You’ll lead a team of two (Skipper + GPH), manage the day’s run sheet and ensure everything runs smoothly, safely and professionally.
You’re calm under pressure, proactive, personable and capable of balancing safety with fun.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe operation and navigation of the vessel
- Hosting guests in a fun, safe and professional manner
- Clear communication with guests, crew and management
- Adherence to SMS and operational procedures
- Maintaining vessel logs and required documentation
- Monitoring and addressing issues before they escalate
- Delegating and managing crew duties
- Conducting training where required
- Basic cleaning
- Assisting with vessel maintenance
- Creating a positive, memorable experience for every guest
Ideally You’ll Have
- Minimum qualification: Current Coxswain, NC1 or NC2 (Master 5 desirable)
- Demonstrated vessel handling experience
- Ability to work effectively in a 2-person crew
- Friendly, outgoing and confident personality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable weekend availability (and some weekdays)
- High energy and physical fitness
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Sailing experience (preferred but not essential)
- Current First Aid certificate
- RSA (or willingness to obtain one)

Deckhand / Host(ess)
The Role
This is a dynamic, hands-on position combining hospitality, safety and seamanship.
You’ll help create unforgettable experiences, whether that’s hosting a high-energy 21st birthday, delivering polished service at a corporate event, or ensuring a relaxed family day on the water.
You’ll assist with vessel operations, guest service, watersports, photography and social media content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering an outstanding guest experience
- Assisting with boarding and disembarkation
- Ensuring guest safety onboard
- Food and beverage service
- Watersports setup and beach gear management
- Capturing photos and videos throughout the charter
- Creating Instagram story content
- Encouraging guest reviews and feedback
- Assisting with general deck duties (anchors, sails, cleaning etc.)
Ideally You’ll Have
- A warm, outgoing personality and natural hosting ability
- Hospitality experience (marine experience a bonus)
- Strong work ethic and proactive attitude
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, physical environment
- A love of boats and the ocean
- Confidence in photography and social media content creation
- Proven ability to multitask
- Respect for diverse cultures and guests
- Reliable weekend availability (primary focus)
- Strong safety awareness
- Basic cash handling experience
- RSA (or willingness to obtain one)
- First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Availability & Employment Conditions
Most crew roles are casual positions, offering great flexibility around bookings and seasonal demand. Hours and days are not guaranteed, and weekend availability is essential, with increased availability required during peak season from November to January.
